Journey

2012 - Foundation

Actuarial Science

I started with a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, a field that combines mathematics, statistics, probability, finance, and risk analysis.

What I loved about actuarial science was not only the numbers, but the way numbers could be used to understand uncertainty, explain business outcomes, and support better decisions.

That foundation still plays a big role in what I do today, whether I am analyzing ecommerce performance, building reports, identifying patterns, or helping teams understand what the data is really saying.

2016 - Agency Growth

SearchGuru and NP Digital Malaysia

After completing my degree, I began my career at SearchGuru, a digital advertising agency that is now part of NP Digital Malaysia following its acquisition by NP Digital.

Over the next five years, I grew within the agency and eventually became a Data Analytics Lead.

During that time, I worked closely with marketing teams, clients, and internal stakeholders to turn digital performance data into insights that could guide strategy and improve results.

2018 - Teaching

Workshops and making analytics practical

One of the most meaningful parts of that role was teaching.

I enjoyed leading internal workshops, helping team members understand analytics concepts, and making technical topics easier to apply in daily work.

That experience helped me realize that I wanted to go deeper, not only in analytics, but also in the systems behind the data. I wanted to better understand how data is collected, structured, processed, and scaled.

2023 - Canada

Software development and data analytics studies

That curiosity brought me to Canada, where I pursued further studies in software development and data analytics at Douglas College.

Over two years, I worked on a wide range of projects, including web development, iOS and Android app development, database design, data analysis, and machine learning.

These projects helped me connect the dots between frontend experience, backend systems, and analytical thinking.

2024 - Human Context

Qualitative data work at HSABC

During my studies, I also worked as a Data Entry Lead with the Homelessness Services Association of BC.

This experience gave me valuable exposure to qualitative data work, from data collection and cleaning to analysis and final presentation.

It helped me appreciate that not all meaningful insights come from dashboards or large datasets. Sometimes, the most important patterns come from carefully understanding real human experiences.

2025 - Current Work

Retail ecommerce, reporting, and scalability

After graduating with high distinction, I began the next chapter of my career in retail ecommerce, working with Urban Barn, a Canadian-owned furniture company.

In my current role, I focus on ecommerce analytics, sales performance, customer behavior, and operational scalability.

My day-to-day work involves analyzing ecommerce sales, improving reporting processes, supporting product and campaign decisions, and helping create systems that make operations more efficient and scalable.

What Connects It All

What connects all these experiences is a consistent interest in solving business problems through data and systems. I enjoy working between technical and non-technical teams, translating messy information into clear insights, and building practical solutions that help people make better decisions.

I see my background as a combination of analytical discipline, marketing experience, technical learning, and operational problem-solving. It allows me to understand both the business question and the system behind it, which is where I believe meaningful digital and ecommerce work really happens.
